Our Vision
At Academic Medical Press, we have always been aware of the need to support students at critical moments during their educational careers. Often these critical moments centre on key exams and exam preparation. Accordingly, part of our vision is to use our experience, expertise and track record of excellence to support students at such important moments. Our mission is to offer support to students at all levels of education, whether they are at school, university or professional stages of their careers.
An important part of our vision is to offer support to students worldwide. This is why we also offer support for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) revision in standard, technical, scientific and medical English. English is truly the international language of education and science and so we understand the importance of assisting students in these linguistic endeavours.
Another core component of our vision is a focus on the basic sciences (chemistry, biology and physics) as these underpin advances in science and technology that propel forward global business and commerce in the modern era. We understand that students have different preferences and aptitudes for the quantitative and descriptive sciences - our hope is to provide support for all the basic sciences.
We also appreciate that students require the highest quality resource materials to make the best use of their revision time. This can be a particularly challenging issue when considering medicine or the basic sciences. Understandably, resources produced by experienced credentialled educators are a good solution for this problem. Accordingly, we are fortunate to have a lead writer that is a graduate and has a doctorate from Oxford University and the lead editor of our texts is also a graduate of Oxford University. We are priviliged to be able to make use of and continue this heritage of excellence. Consequently, our publications are well received and well respected.
In the medical space we were the first to produce an FRCPath Pt 1 preparation guide for doctors aspiring to take this important postgraduate exam and it quickly became the gold standard in its field. We intend to follow this early success with more books to assist doctors in their training and to make such materials accessible in digital forms. It is our aim to continue to use our track record of excellence to support the medical education sector.
We also understand that educational support has the greatest possible positive impact early in the careers of students. Accordingly, we have used our Oxbridge tradition of excellence to create a series of books to support students in their university entrance aspirations (EmSAT series) which will not be our last contributions to this sector.
The students of today are the leaders and role models of tomorrow; they are our best future and we believe in supporting them for the benefit of all. We consider it a privilege to be able to contribute to their success along their life journeys.
Whether we consider the environment, the sciences, the arts, politics or business, humanity needs the best educated individuals that we can create to manage the challenges of the future whilst also remaining true to our best ideals.
We are honoured to be able to make a significant contribution to this better future.
